Thymic hypoplasia/aplasia
DiGeorge syndrome
Comes from maldevelopment of the 3rd and 4th pharyngeal pouches
May be accompanied with
Hypoparathyroidism – developmental failure
Immunosuppression – deficient CMI with poor defense against viruses and fungi
Cardiac and other malformations
SCIDS – deficient CMI and humoral immunities
Thymic cysts – incidental finding
