Describe the general properties of flaviviruses?
Describe the diseases caused by these viruses and how would you diagnose this?
General properties of flaviviruses include: 50-60nm in size, icosahedral enveloped viruses. This can cause a number of conditions including: febrile illness, rash leading to encephalitis≫ Murray Valley Encephalitis, Kunjin, Japanese encephalitis, Dengue, Yellow fever and St Louis Encephalitis.
