AAI :Single-chamber atrial pacing
Indications
- Sinus node dysfunction without AV block, without compromised intraventricular conduction and with normal chronotropic function
AAI : Single-chamber atrial pacing with rate modulation
Indications
- Sinus node dysfunction without AV block but with chronotropic incompetence but normal dromotropic function
VVI : Single-chamber ventricular pacing
Indications
- Chronic atrial fibrillation with intermittent AV block
VVIR :Single-chamber ventricular pacing with rate modulation
Indications
- Atrial fibrillation with high grade AV block resulting in chronotropic incompetence
DDI: Dual-chamber pacing with intact atrial sensing and absence of atrial tracking
Indications
- Sinus node dysfunction with intact AV conduction but potential for AV block;
- chronotropic competence during exercise
- Bradycardia-tachycardia syndrome
- Hypersensitive carotid sinus syndrome – use rate hysteresis
- Malignant vasovagal syndrome – use rate hysteresis with Rest Rate
DDIR : Dual-chamber pacing with intact atrial sensing, lack of atrial tracking but with rate modulation
Indications
- Sinus node dysfunction with chronotropic incompetence and potential AV block
- Bradycardia-tachycardia syndrome on medication for tachyarrhythmia
DDD: Dual-chamber pacing with rate modulation due to atrial tracking
Indications
- Normal sinus node function with high-grade AV block
- Neurocardiogenic syncope (use with rate hysteresis)
- Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation if AF suppression and automatic mode switch algorithms are available
DDDR : Dual-chamber pacing with rate modulation provided by both atrial tracking and a separate sensor
Indications
- Normal sinus node function with high-grade AV block
- Sinus node dysfunction with chronotropic incompetence and potential or concomitant AV block
- Paroxysmal atrial fibrillation if AF suppression and automatic mode switch algorithms are available
DDDR : Dual-chamber pacing capable of atrial tracking but not atrial stimulation
Indications
- High-grade AV block with normal sinus node function
VDDR: Dual-chamber pacing capable of atrial tracking but not atrial stimulation with rate modulation capability
Indications
- High-grade AV block with normal sinus node function
