a) Traumatic: skull fractures, firearm injuries, stab penetrating wound in a rib and fracture hyoid bone.
b) Pathological: malignant disease of bones or bony metastasis, or T.B. of bones.
c) Poisoning: arsenic, lead or radium may be detected on chemical analysis of bones.
