NO more than 40 ug of Epi should be injected successively in pts w/ cardiovasc. Disease.
After 5-10 min additional carps may be given.
Levonordepherin is 1/6 as potent as epi ( a safe alternative
75% alpha1 sim, 25% B1,2 stimulation.
Epi does not effect carotid or cerebral hemodynamics but norepineph does cause an increase in cerebrovasc. Resistance and decreased cerebravascular capacitance
M1 receptors- CNS, nerves M2 - CNS, heart, Smooth M.
M3 – Smooth M. , Exocrine Glands M4 – CNS, nerves
M5 - CNS
