Action: anticholinergic; antispasmodic (esp. G.I. disorders)
Indication: G.I. disorders (peptic ulcer, hyperacidity, hypermotility, spasm)
Contraindicated: glaucoma, asthma, BPH, obstructive uropathy, ulcerative colitis, myasthenia gravis.
Side effects: xerostomia, decreased sweating, urinary retention, blurred vision, constipation, drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, tachycardia.
Dental aspects: severe dry mouth; manage with frequent mouth rinses with water or saliva substitutes.
