Appearance

  • large conidia coming off thin, sticklike mycelia; this confers a lollipop appearance

  • in tissue, yeast form displays broad-based budding

  • skin infection weeks to months after exposure. take a careful epidemiologic history. typically, these infections are diagnosed after unsuccessful several courses or antibiotics
