spores are the dormant form of these organisms

cortex has 2 layers of peptidoglycan
core has enzymes and everything it needs to restart
medically-important spores: Bacillus anthracis
gross brain specimen of a patient who perished from fatal anthrax meningitis
medically-important spores: Clostridium botulinum
