1. Describe the transmission & disease outcomes for Aeromonas infections. Include the most vulnerable people and which species is most important in humans.

2. Plesiomonas Shigalloides is another group part of this family. What main disease does it cause. What is its transmission route?

The transmission route for aermonas infections are by food & water. That is why you have a peak of infections in summer – due to infection spread by aquatic environment. The diseases it causes include: childhood diarrheoa in 11% of cases, water diarrhoea if infection present <>1wk<1mth>2wk<2mths> A.hydrophilia > A.caviae.

Plesiomonas Shigalloides is another group part of Aermonadaceae. This causes watery diarrhoea and is prevalent in India and Japan. Pathogenesis not know yet.
