- Indicating the name, address, religion, birth date and place of the person.
- Giving an idea about the environmental and social background of the person e.g. tattoo marks is generally practiced in lower class of society. In addict persons, they are practiced to conceal the injection sites.
- Removal of tattoo marks by either surgery or caustic substance will leave a scar.
