PD – resting tremor, bradykinesia, drooling, shuffling gait, difficulty turning, script is legible but small, pill-rolling “resting” or Parkinsonian tremor, difficulty rising from a chair.
Progressive supranuclear palsy – similar to PD; loss of eye mobility, gait problems, pseudobulbar palsy.
Shy-Drager Syndrome – impotence in men, orthostatic hypotension in women, also autonomic insufficiency.
BET – benign essential tremor – assn. with activity, absent at rest, faster than PD (7-8 Hz vs. 4-5 Hz for PD), no PD, 50% have a family history. Also called senile tremor, also called familial tremor, also called action tremor.
