Simple squamous- Mesothelium outer covering of organs, ie intestine
 - Endothelium lining of vessels, ie bowman’s capsule
 - Lining of respiratiry

Simple cuboidal - Cells that make up glands where you can see open duct in center.
 - Tubules
 - Outer lining of ovary
 - Thyroid

     - Simple columnar
 - Nuclei all line up
 - Lining of most of the stomach, intestine. Note these are usually on villi.

- Glands where the duct is not visible because the “swollen” glandular cells occlude it, ie pancrease

Strat squamous - Pay close attn to the flattened nuclei in the apic layer.
 - Epidermis
 - Mouth
 - Esophagus
 - Vagina

Strat cuboidal - Large glandular ducts, seen as an opening in the midst of other tissue
 - Sweat glands, seen just below and opening to strat squamous
 - Anorectal junction

Strat columnar - Upper layer of columnar cells have nuclei in a row
 - Anorectal junction, seen between where goes from strat cuboidal to strat squams
 - Largest of glandular ducts

Pseudostrat - Will appear strat, but cant be columnar because nuclei are not lined up
 - Has large glands within strat.
 - Trachea
 - Deferens
 - Epididymis

Transitional - Appears strat, but not cuboidal because apical surface of cells are dome shape not flat as cuboidal would be. Also cells in strat are interposed longitudinal rather than horizontally.

Epitheloid - Random arrangment of cells of even size and shape.
 - No free suface.
 - Interstitial cells of Leydig of testis
 - Islets of Langerhans of pancreas
