    • herpes viruses

    • Epstein-Barr virus


herpes infection

  • primary infection leads to sores

  • then, herpes simplex goes back and lives in the neuron (or herpes zoster goes back and lives in the ganglion)

  • when the virus comes out again, you see cold sores (herpes simplex) or shingles (herpes zoster)
