occurs in patients with early afterdepolarizations or prolonged QT interval
nomenclature
if this occurs in a patient with a prolonged corrected QT interval (QTc), it’s just called polymorphic VT
however, if patient has a long QT interval at baseline, it is called torsades de pointes
