mechanism: topo I inhibitor
irinotecan is the one that is most widely-used in GI cancers
toxicity: cholera-like diarrhea
anthracyclines: doxorubicin, doxil, mitoxanthrone
mechanism: topo II inhibitor
toxicity: cardiac. assess every couple of months
mainstay of many curable diseases
etoposide
mechanism: topo II inhibitor
toxicities: liver damage, secondary leukemias (1 in 10,000 or so)
