1. Assessed the effects of low levels of ionizing radiation.
2. Extrapolated from doses above .5 Sieverts
3. Equivalent to approximately 160 years of background exposure.
4. Beir V report utilized linear non-threshold patient/dose relationship.
3. Japanese A-bomb survivors were counterintuitive to the report in that, low level radiation exposure produced a lower rate of cancer.
4. Animal experiments indicate doses below .25 Sieverts being beneficial.
