if you mark “all of the above,” you are right 90% of the time
alopecia: our hair follicles turn over quickly, so we lose hair when rapidly-dividing cells are targeted (as is the case with chemo)
myelosuppression: our bone marrow makes lots of new cells, and this is affected
nadir counts (lowest counts) usually 10-14 days after administration
immunosuppression: wipe out lymphocytes
nausea, vomiting: GI, CNS toxicity
mucositis, diarrhea: GI epithelium turns over quickly
