Characteristics of Noradrenergic Crises

on 10.6.08 with 0 comments

  • hypertension

  • occipital headaches; they may be severe ==> intracerebral bleeds

  • stiff and sore neck

  • autonomic changes: flushing, sweating, cold and clammy skin

  • arrhythmias (tachycardia > bradycardia)

  • nausea, vomiting

Noradrenergic crises can lead to death, but they are more readily controlled than serotonergic crises. So, they are not as severe as serotonergic crises if caught early enough.
