Topical Hemostatic adjuncts: absorbable getatin (Gelfoam); oxidized cellulose (Surgicel); microfibrillar bovine collagen (Avitene); topical thrombin preparations; antibibrinolytics (Amicar – less likely to be used)
Astringents: Ferric sulfate (Astringedent); Aluminum chloride (Hemodent); Aluminum potassium sulfate (generic); Aluminum sulfate (Gel-Cord)
Vasoconstrictor: Epinephrine (Adrenalin)… this is effective, but will wear off quickly.
