COMPONENT 9:New Health Financing Mechanisms

• A Task Group shall be created to examine new health financing mechanisms.

• The District Health Mission should move towards paying hospitalsfor services by way of reimbursement .

• Standardization of services and costs will be done periodically by a committee of experts in each state.

• All existing CHCs will have wage component paid on monthly basis.

• Community Based Health Insurance Schemes (CBHI) will be encouraged as part of the Mission.

• The Central Government will provide subsides to cover a part of the premiums for the poor, and monitor the schemes.
