1. Remnant xrays exit the patient and interact with film.
2. Collimation reduces patient dose
3. Failure to collimate is major reason for unnecessary pt. exposure.
4. Increased KvP leads to more Compton interactions.
5. High KvP is generally preferred over low, due to patient dose consideration.
6. Larger field size = more scatter, especially in the case of smaller films.
7. Thicker patient = more scatter
8. Patient compression can decrease scatter
